A workout… or three.

I didn’t wake up with my legs wanting to run. I didn’t come home from work with the feeling that my legs wanted to run. I did however want to take my onesie out for another run, so I went for a few miles on the country roads. It is so peaceful out there.


I think I could run forever on this road… you know, if I wasn’t really hungry like I was today and all that consumed my brain while running was what I was going to make for lunch as soon as I got home. I guess I usually don’t get too deep into my thoughts while running… especially when a mushroom and mozzarella egg white omelette is on my mind. 


I think being hungry made me run a little faster, I pulled off 5.07 miles at an average pace of 8:19 min/mile. It was another “feeling awesome run” as my mile splits were 8:29, 8:17, 8:11, 8:22, 8:18, and then 8:10 for the last 0.07 miles. It is so strange when you feel like you are running slower than the day before but somehow your Garmin proves you wrong and shows you ran a little faster. 


My little run was the first workout of the day, and after lunch I was ready for round two. I definitely DID NOT change out of my onesie before I hit the gym. At first I felt a little weird in the Runsie at the gym because it is so light that it feels like you are wearing nothing at all. I did the stair-master for 20 minutes and then did 40 minutes of leg strength training. I haven’t done a leg day in quite a while due to the half marathon pre-race tapering and not wanting to wear out my legs and then post-race I was too sore to do legs so today’s workout was refreshing and awesome.

I think the many many boys at the gym today kept staring at me because of my amazing calf muscles… or maybe it was because I was wearing a one-piece. Whatever the case may be, I am oddly proud of my calf muscles when I am doing leg strength training. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of my wicked calves to show you… just kidding, of course I do.


Don’t be too jealous. 

I did plenty of lunges and squats and then ended my leg workout with 8 minutes of 15.0% incline walking hill climb on the treadmill. I had originally set the program on the treadmill for 5 minutes but when I hit repeat for the third time on Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” I knew I could manage a few more minutes of my legs burning like no other. 


I need to change that “H” in the title. ASAP.

When I got home from the gym I realized my dad would be leaving work anytime so I called him to see if he wanted someone to walk home with him… luckily he said yes. I think he would have said no if he had known I was going to show up in my onesie. He only pretended not to know me for 64% of the walk home.


My third workout of the day consisted of walking to meet my dad and then walking home speed walking away from the storm clouds with him. It ended up being about 2.40 miles… what would I do without my Garmin? On a completely gross and random tangent, this is what my hair does when it gets sweaty. Ringlets? Weird.
