I am a huge country music fan. Luckily, I live in Alberta. This year the CCMA Awards were being held in Edmonton so we decided to buy tickets and go for a family evening out. First we went and stopped by the “green” carpet where the country stars arrive. Good thing the Murray family is twice the height of others – it made it easier to see everyone!
A few country stars got close to where we were standing. Dean Brody and Hunter Hayes did not. It was extremely unfortunate. Gord Bamford – a Lacombe, AB native who ended up winning a fair share of awards – made sure to come and take picture with his fans.
So close Dean Brody, so close.
I think some of the people on the green carpet to get the most cheers and applause were the Edmonton Oilers who were there to present an award. Justin Schultz, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Taylor Hall were there looking incredible as always. They are there I swear… just a little far away.
We made our way into Rexall Place and settled into our seats in the nose-bleeds for the show. It was AMAZING. The best thing about country artists is the fact that they sound identical to their recordings and they are great performers. George Canyon blew my mind with his acoustic performance and The Band Perry had so much energy it was contagious!
These high quality pictures are brought to you by my iPhone. I think this is a fail in Blogging 101 but you get the picture… pun always intended.
I tried to fix the red eye. It made my entire eye black. I really need to learn how to be a photographer or how to edit pictures, but for now I’ll just fake it ’til I make it.
Overall it was a really fun night and it felt like we got fourteen concerts for the price of one! Dean Brody is such a stud. I really wish he had performed “Canadian Girls.” It is the story of my life… and probably the lives of 389275 other Canadian girls but mostly this running Canadian girl! This time I can blame my white skin on the flash right?
See you next year CCMA Awards!
