I think I have met my iron and protein requirements for the next three weeks with tonight’s dinner. We went out for my Grandma’s birthday dinner to a Brazilian Steakhouse called Pampa. It is a restaurant with an all-you-can-eat salad bar and steak house with over ten different cuts of meat to try. Vegetarians should promptly skip this post.
I had an all-day course that started at 8am so I had to sneak out of the house just after 5 to get my run in. Heaven forbid I go one day without endorphins streaming through my veins. It was cold but that only made me run faster. 7.0 miles with splits of 8:15, 7:45, 7:52, 7:55, 7:49, 7:52, and 7:34 for an overall average of 7:51 min/mile.
The Brazilian Steakhouse is an experience. Yes, the food is great but the atmosphere is even better. Servers bring around the cuts of meat on long skewers and slice off a small sample of the meat for you to try. You have a chip beside your plate that indicates to the servers whether you are wanting them to bring by food or not.
The salad bar is my favourite. I wish I had a salad bar in my house. I loaded up my plate with vegetables and some various cheeses which were all really good. I think I tried every single type of meat they brought around. And yes, I said there were over ten.
It was a wonderful evening and the food was delicious! I don’t have a picture of any of the meat because I inhaled it too fast to snap a photo. Oops. I can tell you it was AMAZING. A picture would only make you jealous so it’s probably best there is no evidence of the delicious protein I consumed.
My parents were just being adorable as always.
My grandma had a cute little cake for her birthday dessert. I hear it was good, but cake with mango and chocolate creme filling is not really my thing. My grandma blew out the candle and I just know she wished that everyone could be as awesome as her favourite grandchild… me.
As much as I loved trying all of the types of meat that were cooked perfectly, I would be just as content with the endless salad bar. I am a veggie girl at heart. I had a plate purely dedicated to fresh mango slices for my dessert. Hello awesome! I plan to have a ridiculously awesome salad bar for MY birthday dinner.
