I have the day off. Obviously I woke up at 6:30 am and went to the gym. I love love love being there early and having almost the entire fitness area to myself. It’s so peaceful and quiet… well besides the sound of Flo Rida on my iPod.
I decided to wear my Runsie to the gym and it was wonderful. It’s so light and perfect for running AND strength training. I left before my parents to go the gym and did a 7.0 mile run (8:27 min/mile) before they got there. Lazy bums. Ha! People look at me strangely when I arrive at the gym in shorts and it’s -18.
FINALLY my mom and dad arrived and my dad thought he was too cool to workout with us so he hit the rowing machines to race the 80-year olds.
My mom and I did a cardio circuit for 20 minutes.
5 minutes elliptical.
5 minutes treadmill 15.0% incline hill walk.
5 minutes stairmaster.
5 minutes skiier.
Then we hit the weights for leg day. I am hoping after today I won’t be as sore as last time I did leg day. We did lunges, wall squats, calf raises, and a bunch of other things that made our legs burn. I think the dumbbell lunge walk around the track was the hardest, which makes it the best!
We didn’t work hard enough obviously because my mom still had the energy to do Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred when we got home. I certainly did not.
My breakfasts are like a song on repeat these days but I love it and actually look forward to it every day! Eggwhites, turkey, and fruit. I microwave my egg whites because
it makes them taste the best I am lazy. Protein = check!
I added plenty of mushrooms to my egg whites today. I was going for a 1:1 ratio of egg whites and mushrooms.
I am craving an Americano now and I figured my mom and I would go for coffee. She just put overalls on… so I guess we’re not leaving the house? I love starting my day with a solid workout AND having my parents join me at the gym was fun!
