I did a substantial run on the treadmill today because it is about fifty – yes, 5. 0. – degrees warmer indoors than it is outdoors. When they say Arctic air is moving into the region they really mean it.
I spent my time between classes yesterday sprinting from building to building. And buying coffee. It was the last day of classes for the fall term yesterday. Time to
procrastinate and then panic study.
There are a few different types of runners out there. I think I fluctuate between a few types. I have the day off today to go for a run, get a massage, visit Starbucks, eat lots of food, oh, and study I guess. Despite having the whole day off I woke up at 5:30 am ready to hit the gym. I began my run as “the Morning Runner.”
By the end I was definitely “the Sweating-Buckets Runner.” Gross.
I ran 11.0 miles total on the treadmill.

It was a really good run and I felt great. I went in with the goal of running at least six sub-eight-minute miles and accomplished that (and more) so I was happy! After my run I did half an hour of arm strength training and then five minutes of rowing on the stationary rowers beside my dad. During this short time he mentioned that he likes the peace and quiet and his time on the rower alone about 47 times. Message
received ignored 😉
You know it’s cold when I actually put on pants to go to the gym. I look extremely fashionable at 5:45 am.
I love feeling so accomplished as I leave the gym before the sun has even risen. I think my mom knew I would be running and then studying today because this bad boy was in my advent calendar. Venti, soy, extra hot, extra water, americano misto please.
It is days like this that I am thankful for heated seats, treadmills, and hot cups of coffee.
