Waking up before the sun rises on the weekend is tough, but finishing a double digit run before 9 feels so good. I met my friend at the gym in the wee hours of the morning (read; 7am) and we ran side by side for an hour before he ditched me to do strength training. I am pretty sure I spent the entire time telling him about my trip to Vancouver. When I was done talking he asked me when I was moving there :P. I don’t even remember asking how his last week was because I was talking so much. Oh well…
Once I was alone on the treadmill I cranked my music and bumped up my speed just a tiny bit. I decided to stop at 11.11 miles. It felt lucky. I had to stop and pee halfway through my run (because you wanted to know that) so unfortunately I don’t have a golden 11.11 mile treadmill photo.
Once I was stretched, showered, and rehydrating with coffee, I had a delicious bowl of oatmeal with egg whites and peanut butter. I started watching Corner Gas: The Movie while I was eating because of the fiasco with not getting to see it in theatres a couple of weeks ago. I always manage to drink a lot more coffee than water after a long run… oops. It is Starbucks Christmas blend so ’tis the season!
My 11.11 mile run capped off a pretty relaxed week of workouts. As I mentioned, I really took it easy in Vancouver and enjoyed a relaxing vacation. I got to run and spin with one of my favourite people in the world in one of the prettiest places in the world. It wasn’t a record mileage week but it was a super FUN week that my body and mind really needed. With that in mind, my weekly workout recap:
I have very few plans between now and this afternoon’s Oilers game. That means more coffee, Christmas movies, updating workout playlists, and planning my random-but-totally-planned-and-stalkerish encounter with Tyler Seguin at tonight’s hockey game. I mean, c’mon.
I am working a ton in the next week but I will also be enjoying lots of family time and Christmas fun. It is so hard to believe that Christmas is 4 days away but I am done my Christmas shopping and super excited! This next week will be filled with super awesome workouts, I just know it! Especially because my run was a lucky 11.11 miles today AND this post was magically published at 11:11am UNINTENTIONALLY!! 🙂
When did YOU finish Christmas shopping?
Has anyone signed up for a Resolution Run?
