Just gettin’ to know me – Fun quiz!

I love these little “get to know you” quizzes when I read them on other people’s blogs so I thought I would steal THIS one from Nut Butter Runner’s blog today! Most of these questions any long-time reader could answer about me because this is basically the content of my blog, but it’s fun to write answers down and look back on it in a year and see if any of my answers have changed!

1. What did you eat for breakfast?

My go-to lately is an egg, cooked with a bunch of egg whites for added protein, with melted asiago cheese on a piece of toast and some kind of fruit. Oh, and coffee… obviously.


2. How much water do you drink a day?

I TRY to drink at least 2-3L and if I’m teaching spin like I was last night you can guarantee that will happen. I get SO thirsty when I have to spin AND talk at the same time for an hour! I also try to hydrate really well throughout the day so when spin rolls around in the evening I’m ready to rock. I would say I drink 2.43 L on average 😉

3. What is your current favourite workout?

SPIN CLASSES. Teaching them has reinvigorated my love for them and it is magical.

4. How many calories do you eat a day?

I have no idea. Probably too many.

5. What are your favourite healthy snacks?

Carrot sticks and hummus. Apple and peanut butter. A handful of nuts and dried cranberries. Greek yogurt with banana and cinnamon. Or just a spoonful of peanut butter.

6. What do you usually eat for lunch?

I usually bring a salad for lunch because typically I am either at school of working during the lunch hour. My salad recipe includes quinoa + spinach (or spring mix) + cheese + vegetables and fruit + nuts + balsamic vinegar. It rarely changes but I switch it up with different kinds of vegetables, different cheese/nuts, and some tofu or chickpeas for protein.


7. What is your favourite body part to strength train?

Calves. Because mine are amazing.

8. What is your least favourite body part to strength train?

Back. Even though I have never incurred an injury due to strength training my back I am terrified of improper form and I don’t know the difference between good hurt and bad hurt when I do back exercises!

9. Do you take vitamins or supplements?

Yeeeeeup. Check out THIS post for a buttload of information on this topic. I take iron, vitamin B12, and vitamin D every morning.


10. Who is your biggest supporter?

Hmmmm, I have a ton, which is nothing to complain about – I just can’t pick one! I’d say my mom because even though she is constantly questioning my sanity when I knock on the gym doors at 5:30am, I know she truly supports me and always wants the best for me. My dad is also ALWAYS there for me no matter what. Guess what? My mom AND dad came to my spin class last night!! It was so fun!!

11. Do you have a gym membership?

Heck yes. I also have a barre 20-class pass.

12. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Oh boy. Depends on the day and what activities I have going on but honestly on average I’d say I get 7 hours of sleep per night.

13. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle? 

THE PEOPLE. There are friends in my life (and virtual friends from the blogging world 😉 ) that I never would have met if it hadn’t been for my healthy lifestyle. To some of the people I see daily I am that weird girl that brings a ridiculously big salad to work every day, and to others, I am the girl that is always down for meeting at the gym for a sweat sesh in the wee hours of the morning and I love being those people. 🙂


14. What was the last healthy thing you did?

Taught a spin class last night and drank a protein smoothie after for recovery!

15. What is one of your fitness goals this year?

To run and walk 2015 miles over the course of 2015. I am 155.32 miles in.

  1. I’m totally with you on the back thing too.

    1. Breakfast today = protein shake at home (skim milk, protein powder, greek yogurt and raspberries)

    12. Sleep = I’d say about 6-7 hours most nights.

    13. I’d definitely say friends too! I’ve meet a bunch of really great people through running.

    14. Last healthy thing = Ran (or at least attempted to run on the icy trails) a sub tempo run at “lunch” today….ok, it may have taken a little longer than an hour but I figured I was working at bettering myself…so, it’s probably ok.

    15. Fitness goals for this year are all running related. And I finally get to run Boston in only 10 weeks – that goal has been a long time coming!

  2. I love that your parents went to your spin class! So awesome! I’m going to make my parents do yoga with me when I go home in a few weeks, I’m sure they will love it 🙂 and yeah I hate strength training my back too! It always feels sooo sore after, so maybe if I did it more it would feel better, but I just can’t seem to get to that point! 🙂

  3. I completely agree with you about my friends (online and in real life) growing since I took up running. I love that there are so many people, out there, who feel the same way about it!

    I want to run a marathon in 2015!
