Weekly Workout Recap: Somber Sunday and a concert.

This week turned into a weird one pretty quickly. Due to some tragic and unfortunate events that severely affected my dad, the people he works with, and my community, it’s a pretty somber Sunday up in here. Yesterday was such a weird day with everything going on in my city. My dad is in charge of the St. Albert RCMP detachment, and yesterday two of his members were shot. It’s incredibly sad and that is all I plan to say about it here, just know, my thoughts are with the families of the members.

Due to the circumstances, my parents couldn’t attend the Bryan Adams concert last night. I had given my family tickets for the concert for Christmas so we had two to spare and recruited some fun, concert-loving, Adams-singing neighbours to come with us!

Two things; yes, I tried to copy my oh-so-stylish brother when I got my glasses, and secondly, I don’t know what I am doing with my hand in the photo… am I snapping? The concert was AMAZING and a great way to relax and take my mind off of everything! I absolutely love Bryan Adams and grew up with his music. “Summer of ’69” is genuinely my all-time favourite song. Beer and Bryan Adams makes for one good night!

I know almost all of the songs he sang because a few were new never-released songs. “Heaven” has got to be the most adorable song out there. Actually, all of this love songs are adorable. He is 55 and still sexy.

I think one of the coolest parts of the concert was when he asked everyone to light up their phones for an acoustic song. It looked incredible with all of the lights and the beautiful song – he called it magic and it was. Bryan Adams rocked it out and it was such a fun show!

It wasn’t too late when we got home but I fell straight to sleep and it was amazing. 9 hours of sleep and I didn’t get to the gym until 10am. It was so crowded and busy and I remembered why I love going early in the morning so much! I hogged a treadmill for an hour and a half and did 10 easy miles. After, I did my Core Challenge (<- still going strong) and some stretching. Only about 25 miles this week running-wise but those added spin classes really trash my legs. I am going to have to be REALLY smart during this upcoming marathon training cycle with my balance of activities!

I loved every second of teaching spin last week! I can’t wait to do more this week! I need some Bryan Adams remixes in my spin line-up 😉
