It was a very slow week of workouts and I couldn’t be more proud. I am terrible at “taking it easy” even when my body is screaming at me to slow it down. I was on full injury alert early this week when last Sunday’s run left my right hip feeling a tiny bit painful and simple “off.” At that point I knew I had been putting in some hard weeks, not necessarily with high mileage but lots of cross training, strength training, and running. I took this week super easy and I feel like I am ready to start marathon training tomorrow!
I have a post this week all about my latest and greatest training plan but for now a little recap of what this week contained as far as workouts went! Friday was suppose to be “ski day” but we all know how that went, so it turned into a rest day. My heart actually got a serious workout that evening watching the movie American Sniper so I guess it wasn’t a total rest day 😉
A look at how my workouts went this week. Even though I promised myself and various other people that I wouldn’t run this week in order to rest my legs before training started I may have run a couple of 10k’s this weekend. It was just TOO NICE, I owed it to Mother Nature, and the sport of running, to enjoy some miles along the ocean in PLUS TWELVE degree weather. It was fabulous. They weren’t hard runs so I regret nothing.
Training starts tomorrow. I have a 3 mile “easy run” on the schedule so I’m starting things off real tough. 😉
