Smoothie for your Saturday.

I have been really into smoothies and ‘nice cream’ lately. As the weather gets warmer and my spin classes get hotter, the refreshing cold of a berry smoothie or chocolate banana ‘nice cream’ is just so appealing. I haven’t fallen in love with the green smoothie trend YET, but you all know I love my kale.

I was asked a few times for my green smoothie recipe from this post, so as a treat for your Saturday morning, here it is! Now, I love getting my greens in the form of a salad… or on top of a pizza crust covered in gooey cheese, but I suppose if you’re going to be all hipster and healthy, a green smoothie will do.

Kale Pear Smoothie

1 cup kale leaves

1 cup spinach

1 frozen banana

1 ripe pear

1 cup unsweetened soy milk

1 scoop plant-based vanilla protein powder

(Vega vanilla protein & greens OR Dailyburn fuel-6 vanilla)

3-4 ice cubes

BLEND. INSTAGRAM IT. DRINK.

Enjoy feeling like a Goddess with those green vitamins and minerals coarsing through your veins. Smoothies are a great meal replacement on the go or on a warm day. After spin class or any workout I like something that is easy on my stomach and gives me a great dose of carbs and protein to refuel.
