You’re probably wondering about those pushups.

The push-up challenge is still going strong. I know, I’m as shocked as you are. If you missed this post about my daily squat challenge, you can find it HERE, and that is pretty much how I feel about the daily push-ups. It turns out you need real live arm muscles to do lots of consecutive push-ups. Ugh.

I haven’t missed a day yet and there is only a week left in April… wait WHAT?! I just started watching Parks & Recreation. It has been on for years but I never got into it and in an effort to procrastinate marking 160 exams, I started watching a new TV series. Ohmigod. It is hilarious. Ron Swanson is the best thing to happen to sitcoms since Michael Scott.

I’ll let you know when I finish the seven seasons… so in about three days most likely. As long as I can get through this…

Spin class last night had a fairly low attendance but the people who came brought ten times the energy so it was a blast!! Everyone is so much more interactive in a small class! A lot of people around these parts have been sick or full of allergies so I hope no one in my house catches anything going around!! I love spinning to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. I did a drill of alternating standing run and seated sprints to that one last night!

After spin I had another bowl of “nice cream.” It is cold and delicious and full of protein. If you missed the nutrition stats on these ones, they can be found HERE. Basically lots of protein, some carbs from the fruit and last night I added peanut butter for some healthy fats. It tasted like a peanut butter and jam sandwich in ice cream form. Who says adults need to eat sophisticated food? 😉

I definitely have noticed a difference in my arm strength from the beginning of this month until now but it’s hard to directly attribute that to the pushup challenge because I have had to do a lot of upper body strength training with an injured foot all month. I have increased all of my weights while doing arm workouts and that’s a huge confidence booster even if it’s not contributing to my cardiovascular goals such as, you know, running a damn marathon. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ll be getting back to Season 2 of Parks & Recreation and doing my daily pushups. Enjoy your Friday!

    It’s wouldn’t be my favourite song to jam to in the car, but I added Honey, I’m Good by Andy Grammer to my playlist recently and I swear the beat helped me PR in my last 10K.
