Taking spin to a whole new level.

On Monday night, after working out in the morning, working on survey distribution in a rural town for school, and then working a shift at my part-time gig, I was exhausted. I came home and my mom had made me a cup of tea, ready the moment I walked in the door. It’s the simple things that made me so happy. I could have cried as I crawled into bed with my mug of tea to catch up on emails. Yesterday was much of the same, with a spin class in the evening instead as my form of “work.”

I thought spin class was hard. Then I thought teaching a spin class and talking the whole time was hard. But teaching a spin class without being able to breath through your nose is impossible… well, close to impossible. I’m still not at 100% but I had to bring my A-game to spin and it was a tough one!

It just so happens this is one of the busiest weeks in school for me and I can’t exactly “call in sick” for community research. I luckily don’t have to start until about noon today so I will certainly be sleeping in! I thought my immune system was better than this!! 😉

Highlight of yesterday: meeting this ADORABLE puppy at one of the houses I visited for school. He was tiny and the cutest thing you have ever seen. If he casually starts popping up in more photos on the blog you know I have gone back and stolen him from his owners.

He’s wearing a t-shirt that says “The Boss” for goodness sake. My heart just melted.

Second best part of yesterday was this dynamite smoothie after spin. Strawberries and milk to heal my body, chocolate to heal my soul, and ice to sooth my throat. Win-win-win.

Smoothie in a glass jar with a cute straw? Am I a big-time blogger now? Are those not the qualifications? 😉 I am hoping to kick this cold by Thursday because I don’t need ANY more challenge in my spin classes. 10-minute hills are hard enough without having to alternate between talking and breathing. My participants were probably a million times happier because I talked a lot less in order to breath, ha!

  1. I’m definitely a dog person. We have two dogs in our house right now and to us they’re members of our family.

    I drink so many different smoothie combos but my go-to lately has been chocolate Vega Performance Protein, a frozen banana, cashew milk, peanut butter, and ice. So simple but after a training run I don’t care for anything out of the ordinary.
