Fitness Friday #2.

Happy Fitness Friday! Not sure what it’s about check out the original post HERE! Fitness Friday Canadian Girl Runs

Admittedly, there were some technical difficulties with last week’s link-up that the lovely Rachel (Betty Livin) emailed me about – thanks Rachel! Turns out the drop-down menu that specified which type of link up I wanted actually didn’t drop down so the link-up wouldn’t display properly. Long story short it is fixed and I can’t wait to read all of your links!

This week of workouts (beginning last Friday) was AWESOME. Mostly because it contained a 19km hike with almost 5000ft of elevation gain on Saturday. Unfortunately that meant my legs were trashed for about three days after the hike. I could barely move on Sunday so I stuck to my schedule and used it as a rest day.

I was still fairly sore on Monday but I made it a point to get my strength training in and managed to kill my weight lifting sessions this week! I absolutely dominated my leg workout yesterday and did more step-ups, lunges, and squats than I can count. I most definitely didn’t stretch my legs as much as I should have this week because my hamstrings and glutes are SORE SORE SORE. I’m sorry legs.

I only ran twice in this week of workouts as I was planning on running on Monday but my legs refused to even consider the idea so I just stuck to a quick warm-up on the elliptical before weights. I think my least favourite strength day is chest and back, I just need a new routine or something for that day!

I am hoping to go out for a longer run or long walk this weekend as I have a whole day off on Saturday and NO plans. I am subbing a spin class on Sunday and then heading to a staff meeting and a massage, so it’s looking like a pretty decent weekend! It’s also suppose to reach DOUBLE DIGITS in temperature on Saturday so that’s exciting! There is a girl from Zimbabwe in one of my classes and she said that she couldn’t believe I was getting excited about how warm ten degrees was. I told her, “Just wait for January!”
