Fitness Friday #7.

Welcome back to another edition of Fitness Friday! Not sure what it’s about check out the original post HERE! I am so excited to once again be hosting a link-up for Fitness Friday, a chance to share a fitness related link, whether it’s a recap of your workouts, a vent about something fitness-related, some tips and tricks for the gym, or some goals for a race, feel free to add your link at the bottom!

Fitness Friday Canadian Girl Runs

I managed to have a fabulous week of workouts during a pretty stressful time. I got some dynamite weight lifting in and increased my bench press to a new PR. I am really impressed with my strength in this 10-week challenge and it shows what you can do when you focus on something other than running a million junk miles. 🙂

Only 3 weeks left of this strength challenge and while I am loving this “building” phase of my marathon off season, I am stoked to start the new year in a leaning phase with lots of HIIT built in for cardio. In less than one week I will be done classes this semester and hopefully with better sleep I will enjoy running a tiny bit more. Right now it feels so tough… maybe because my legs have so much muscle in them now from strength training. 😉

On Monday an old man was sitting behind me doing seated shoulder press while I did quad extension drop sets and he told me, “Whatever you are doing, it’s working for you.” The gym is a fun time ha ha ha.

A HUGE Happy Birthday to one of my favourite people in the world – my brother! My not-so-little 6’5″ brother is turning twenty years old today, which makes me feel so old! He is the most humble and deserving, kind person. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STUART. I love you and ’tis the season to #throwback to this amazing photo!

Join the fun! Add a fitness-related, any fitness-related link to the link-up below and take a peek at how others are staying active! Have a fit and fabulous weekend and happy Fitness Friday!

  1. That’s an awesome photo! How tall are you? You’re almost even in the photo hah. Great job on the strength-training, and yeah, running will seem really hard if you’re not doing much of it or focusing on the gym work – you adapt to what you do!
