Good morning beautiful people. I am back with another few photos and recap of some adventures in Montreal. If you missed the first recap, check it out HERE! This morning my dad and I are renting a car and hitting the road to Quebec City for a night, so the adventures continue, however here is a rundown of our day yesterday! We mainly explored Old Montreal, and then watched sports on sports.
In the morning we woke up, got ready, and headed out the door before 9am to walk down to Old Montreal. I really love walking everywhere here but it is bitterly cold with a brutal wind so our “browsing shops” was mainly to warm up while wandering around! Most of the cute galleries and cafes were closed before 11am on a Sunday so we explored the amazing architecture and then headed for some coffee to warm up.
After a little more wandering, we made our way back towards the Bell Centre and stopped to have lunch at Eggspectation. I had an omelette with avocado and roasted peppers and it was delicious! It was served with fresh, warm whole wheat bread and I just could not resist. It was amazing.
After lunch we headed back to our apartment to change, throw on our Habs jerseys, and head to game #2 at the Bell Centre. It was a NAIL BITER of a game, ending in a shootout win for the Habs! I am 98.7% sure my dad was on the verge of a heart attack for the entire game. After a major losing slump, my dad and I got to witness two wins for the Habs and I am now convinced we are good luck and probably should attend the remaining games in the season. 😉 Once the extremely stressful game was over we headed to Les 3 Brasseurs for dinner and to watch the Super Bowl. We ate lots of delicious food, drank lots of delicious beer, and sadly had to witness the Panthers lose to the Broncos.
I gave fair warning that my workouts were not going to be exactly “on training schedule” this week but I have tried so hard to keep up! I have yet to miss a strength workout and have traded my cardio for lots of walking, but I plan to get back to the more intense cardio next week! I am actually craving a good sweat right now but with a drop-in gym fee of $15 at the closest gym that might have to wait until I get home. I wouldn’t trade the “walking fitness” for anything though because I can honestly say that is the best way to explore a new place!
I have loved reading all of your recommendations for things to do in Montreal so if you have any good ones for Quebec City let me know! The Carnaval de Quebec is on right now so we are bound to check that out, maybe we’ll even meet Bonhomme!
See you from Quebec City!
