There was no shortage of flexibility with my workouts this week and it really frustrates me how tired travelling is! I could have had a little bit more sweat happening this weekend but I was so exhausted from travelling (aka sitting on my ass in a car all day) and networking that I was lucky to get the few workouts I did this weekend! That said, I ended up sticking to my schedule and getting some fresh air to boot!
THURSDAY: On Thursday I got a solid strength workout done in the morning before I hit the road for Kananaskis. Once I got there I worked on my presentation and practiced it a few times before attending the first keynote speech and “attempting” to get a good sleep (spoiler alert: I failed hard at that one).
FRIDAY: On Friday morning I set my alarm for 4:50am and got my arm strength session done in the hotel gym for an hour. Later in the day I did a bit of a run/walk in order to avoid the ice patches on the trails around the hotel. It was not a run to write home about but it got the job done.
SATURDAY: On Saturday I slept in until 6:30am to catch up on some of the sleep I lost the night before and then saved my workout for some fresh air time in the afternoon once the conference was done. I did a short hike (~4km) and lots of walking around the hotel before calling it a night and settling in for the evening.
SUNDAY: On Sunday I drove the four hours back home in order to get back in time for an 8-hour shift at work. I fully committed to my rest day and didn’t get a workout in, leaving me to be fully rested to kick ass for the month of February, RIGHT?!
I am so excited to start February. A new month starting on a Monday?! Hell yes! I am planning on incorporating more push-ups into my strength training routine this month and I’m making it my challenge of the month. I am getting a lot stronger but I am somehow so scared of push-ups!
I know that the next PBB workout recap will contain an equal amount of flexibility as I am headed to Montreal in three sleeps! I am hoping to find an awesome gym close to the apartment we’re renting so I can get some quality strength sessions in, plus of course I’ll be bringing my shoes and running gear to run around Montreal!
