PBB: Workout Recap 6.

Happy Family Day (in Alberta, I don’t actually know if this is a thing in other parts of the world)! I technically have the day off of school but I am working today so nothing super exciting is happening this holiday. It feels like a made-up holiday so I’m really fine being at work and making time and a half. πŸ˜‰ Yesterday I celebrated Galentines day by heading to the movies in the evening with some friends and enjoying a lovely long workout at the gym in the morning. We ironically saw “How to be Single.”

I finally ran more than 30 minutes yesterday. Hallelujah. Most days I do my strength training before my cardio and after 60 minutes of strength I barely feel like staying at the gym for a couple of miles so I usually call it quits after 3. I hopped on the treadmill for 8 slow yet glorious miles yesterday and it felt really good. My hamstrings and back were sore from bent over barbell rows the day before but after about a mile my body warmed up and they felt better.

My workouts were a little rearranged this week due to travel but I think I got most scheduled workouts in! I’m really happy with my weekend workouts because I took my time and just killed it.

I am looking forward to a week of “regular routine” as far as workouts. I only have about 6 more weeks of PBB which means it’s time to amp it up and really push hard to the end… aka my birthday. I found my #1 “wish list” item for my birthday, the FitBit Surge. I really liked keeping track of my steps in Montreal and it does actually make me move a bit more when I know there is a number I want to hit each day. The Surge is also going to replace my Garmin 220 which has been on the fritz lately. πŸ™

How was YOUR week of workouts?

What did you do for Valentines/Galentines Day?

  1. It’s actually President’s Day here in the US so schools are closed. I stayed home with my daughter because I needed an extra day πŸ˜‰

For Valentine’s Day I ran a half marathon in the morning and rested in the afternoon. It was quiet but nice πŸ™‚

  2. I track my steps everyday with my 630. I find the information interesting too. What I’ve found though is I get about 75% of my steps from my run in the morning. The rest of the day I only end up getting about 3000-4000 steps. I’d like to make an effort to move about more but at work I don’t really have that option most times. Most people probably wouldn’t understand if I got up and did laps around the table in the meeting room πŸ˜‰
