Some days I workout for 90 minutes… other days apparently I nap for 90 minutes. Yesterday I worked at 5am. I generally like early shifts because then I’m off earlier and have the rest of the day to be productive. However; after waking up at 4:30am I am certain that there is no hope of maximum productivity when I am THAT tired.
I quickly made lunch after work before heading to IKEA with my mom to do some furniture-scouting for my new apartment. I had been looking online at a few things but I needed to see them in person before ordering them. We spent the afternoon wandering IKEA and doing a bit of grocery shopping. When we got home at 4 at I was DONE. Not even a frozen yogurt cone at IKEA could perk me up enough to resemble a normal human being for the rest of the day.
My eyes were stinging from being awaken at the ungodly hour of 4 in the morning and my head was pounding from trying to drink enough coffee in the morning to compensate for my tiredness. I always have very low expectations when I try to nap because usually it means a half hour of me scrolling on my phone before giving up and getting up but yesterday I fell into a crazy deep sleep for a whole hour and a half. It was glorious. It was everything.
I woke up to the smell of tacos cooking for dinner and the sounds of the rest of my family coming home from their days at work. All of that napping and I was ready for a tofu taco salad. My aunt was in town for work so we spent the evening catching up and exchanging our exciting life updates.
Just before bed I convinced my mom to go for a short walk around the neighbourhood. I’m soaking in all of these evening walks with her because they really are one of my favourite parts of the day. I swear walking and hiking are where the best conversations happen… it’s the fresh air. 🙂 It was the most perfect night.
Now onto the important things… I NEED YOUR ADVICE. I’m heading to Jasper on Friday to hike all day Friday and Saturday morning. What hikes are best in Jasper? Would you recommend Whistlers’ Mountain? HELP!
What is a MUST for you in Jasper area?
Are you able to nap during the day or does it throw off your sleeping?
