Exciting news for me and YOU!

I loved reading each and every one of your comments on my Year in Review post. I love hearing what your favourite memories from the year were and for some of you, while it may have been a tough one, you were able to draw on amazing and positive moments to celebrate. I didn’t respond to comments on the post to keep the numbers accurate for the draw but please know, I read each one and was so pleased with “long time reader, first time commenters” – I LOVE YOU!

I randomly drew a winner and Natalie was the lucky reader! You should have an email awaiting you Natalie, and thank you so much for entering!

If you didn’t see one of my recent Instagram posts, or my various tweets, this year I was selected to be a 2017 PRO Compression Ambassador! I’m super excited to be part of the crew and already it seems like such a fun team! During marathon training I rely on the calf sleeves for training runs and full socks for better recovery and I’m stoked to be representing such a wonderful brand.

I celebrated the news on January 1st by completing my annual 17km resolution run. 17km for 2017. I had to do it inside because it was -20C and I’m not as tough as I think I am, but it was a killer run and I was bouncing with energy and enthusiasm for what’s to come this year! As a PRO Compression Ambassador, not only do I get some sweet perks and a great team to interact with, it will benefit YOU too! Right now you can get 40% off the January Sock of the Month with the coupon code WINGS. I have already ordered the mint and purple ones.

I think I’m the most northern PRO Compression Ambassador, so my compression socks would be buried under at least two layers of running tights if I ran outside right now, but I’ll still try and show them off when I receive them in the mail!

Yesterday I left work early to get to BodyPump class on time. I’m not even kidding. I think I have a problem. To be fair, I worked over my lunch hour to make up the time, but I still snuck out 20 minutes early to get my pump on. It was a good class and although my quads were hella sore from running and Tuesday’s BodyPump, my ego got in the way and I had to keep my usual weight on for squats and lunges. I love the feeling of grabbing the 22lb plates too much to not do it.

I’m really excited that this year already seems to be starting on the right foot. Perhaps it was the low standards that were set globally by 2016, or the people I’ve surrounded myself with, but there is something fresh and new and positive in the air and I’m soaking it all in. The ebb and flow of having good runs and bad runs is SO REAL, and right now I’m riding some good running highs. Let’s make that last, shall we? 🙂

Do you use compression socks? Do you prefer sleeves or socks?

Have you tried BodyPump or group strength classes?

Are you on a high or low running streak right now?

  1. Congrats! I started wearing compression socks when I was pregnant oddly enough. They helped SO much. Now I like to wear socks for recovery after races and hard runs. I couldn’t help but laugh at the part about your socks being buried under multiple layers LOL
