Hi! Welcome to Canadian Girl Runs! I’m Kris!
I am a born and raised Canadian girl who loves to be outside. I have always been active and my family and I never stop moving. My parents have been amazing role models for my brother and I in leading a healthy lifestyle. One of the many reasons I started running seven years ago was the fact that I have watched my mom go for a walk or run almost every single day of my life! She is a huge inspiration for me and one of my best friends.
I have played almost every sport imaginable growing up including soccer, basketball, hockey, curling, track and field, swimming, biking, and skiing. Now I am attempting to maintain my healthy lifestyle through strength training, hiking, spin classes, swimming, cycling, walking, and running!
I am competitive and love to have a goal in mind, whether it is academic goals or future races, I am an OCD planner. I have walked and run marathons, half marathons, ultra marathons, and smaller races, and plan to participate in many more. My favourite race so far has been running the Chicago Marathon.
I am by no means an expert when it comes to fitness, I am just trying my best to live a life full of happiness, health, and laughter. I love adrenaline and have bungee-jumped, learned to shoot a handgun, and skydived, and been inked.
I also love food. With all of this exercise I have to refuel somehow and what better way than peanut butter, beer, coffee, raspberries, and dark chocolate? Hopefully you find a little bit of enjoyment reading about my adventures around Alberta, some running trials and errors, my love of spin classes, and hiking and camping around this beautiful country of ours.
